Maria Apostolou
Designer
I’ve worked in school environments since 2014, supporting marketing, communications, administration, and leadership teams with day-to-day design delivery.
My work has included everything from everyday notices and documents through to enrolment materials, websites, prospectuses, and long-term brand systems.
I spent many years working in-house at St Joseph’s School Hindmarsh, where design was part of the daily rhythm of school life – not a standalone project. That experience shaped how I work: responding to real priorities, working within busy schedules, and delivering design support that’s practical, predictable, and consistent over time.
Designing inside schools
What I learned working in schools
Working inside schools showed me that the biggest challenge isn't ideas or effort – it's time and capacity.
Design work often sits alongside many other responsibilities, and without dedicated support it can become rushed or left unfinished. Not because it isn't valued, but because there's rarely enough space to manage it properly.
Why this service exists
This service was created to remove that pressure.
Rather than operating as an external agency or one-off supplier, I work as a consistent, embedded design resource. Schools stay in control of priorities and messaging, while design execution is handled calmly and reliably in the background.
Most of the work shown in the Design Archives section was completed while working in-house at St Joseph’s School Hindmarsh. That experience underpins the service model – practical, structured, and designed to support real school teams.
The goal is simple: to work quietly alongside schools, without diseuption, restructuring, or added complexity.
